Djuma Vuyatela Lodge Nestled in Djuma Private Game Reserve, in the heart of the famous Sabi Sands adjoining the Kruger National Park lies unprecedented 5-star luxury.
Vuyatela Lodge towers above its bushveld counterparts with a unique and extraordinary combination of modern luxury and traditional African culture. The new Vuyatela Lodge allows you to experience the ultimate in African luxury without paying for superfluous extras, due to the fact that it is now self-catering with a resident chef on standby and hosts groups of 10, who can bask in the comfort and privacy of their very own camp. Vuyatela offers a host of luxurious amenities minus the hovering butler and allows you to savour the bush in your own time, at your own pace. Morning or evening game drives or bush walks, you can thoroughly relax and soak up the exquisite surroundings.
Djuma’s biggest draw-card is essentially the wild and untamed surrounds into which its guests can explore. Djuma offers over 7000 hectares of exclusive traversing, bordering right onto the western boundary of the Kruger National Park. This part of the African Bush is a hidden gem, offering some of the finest game viewing anywhere in Africa. The “Big 5” roams this unspoilt Eden, Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo can be spotted from the comfort and safety of our open game drive vehicles, accompanied by some of the most experienced Rangers and Trackers in the business.
Accommodation
Accommodating a total of 10 guests in five luxury suites, all with en-suite bathrooms, Vuyatela has redefined the meaning of an African safari, breaking the mould of “traditional” colonial-style décor by combining sleek modern design with innovative, funky African art and lots of vibrant colour. A fusion of influences has created something very special, as shabby chic is effortlessly blended with vibrant township artwork and Pippa Moolman’s amazing mosaics, all combining to set Vuyatela apart from other luxury lodges and create a fresh vision of what it is to immerse yourself in Africa, putting the accent firmly on people, culture and tradition, as well as drawing inspiration from the surrounding bush.
Each of the five suites at Vuyatela has a private lounge, separated from the bedroom by an expansive Teak deck. Glass doors open the indulgent bedroom to the view from the deck and the pristine African savannah. King-size beds dominate the airy bedrooms, while spa baths and outdoor showers complete the ultimate indulgence. Each chalet has its own open deck where, if you’re lucky, you might catch a leopard stealing a drink of water.
Facilities
Each guest suite has its own private plunge pool, expansive viewing deck and freestanding “khaya” – a lounge with a tea and coffee station and wood-burning stove for those cold winter’s mornings and evenings. The main lodge area features a cozy indoor lounge and enormous fireplace (perfect for cold winter’s evenings), fabulous dining room with its hallmark chandelier made from Coke bottles opening onto an extended deck and boma area, complete with firepit, swimming pool and funky steel and timber viewing “tower” overlooking the dam. If you’re lucky you might spot one of Djuma’s famous leopards stalking here!
Although Vuyatela is self-catered, the services of a chef are included, so you bring the food, and we cook it for you! We look forward to welcoming you soon!
