Booking conditions

Please read the following booking terms and conditions carefully, as they set out the terms and conditions of the contract between you and African Sunrise Safari.

The following terms of use govern the use of the African Sunrise Safari websites and services. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before you accept these Terms by:

(a) placing an order and/or an enquiry through the use of any of our contact forms on our Websites (or any other method of contact); or
(b) otherwise using the Websites.

If you do not agree with all of these terms and conditions, do not make use of the African Sunrise Safari websites and services.

African Sunrise Safari acts as an agent and not a principal under SARS VAT Interpretation Note No. 42.

Bookings

Bookings, except for late bookings, are confirmed on the condition that a non-refundable deposit of a minimum of 25% of the total package price is paid to African Sunrise Safari within 24 hours of confirmation of your booking(s).

You will be advised at the time of booking what payment is required for your chosen travel arrangements.

Please note that many service providers now require 100% pre-payment within 24 hours of confirmation.

The balance of the cost of your travel arrangements must be paid no less than nine weeks prior to departure.

If your booking is made within nine weeks of departure, the total cost of your travel arrangements must be paid at the time of booking.

Please note that failure to pay on time will result in the automatic cancellation of your booking.

Methods of Payment

African Sunrise Safari uses Revolut’s secure credit card payment system for payment processing.

A payment link will be sent to your email address via Revolut. This means that African Sunrise Safari and its staff do not have access to your credit card details.

Cash or EFT Transfers

We accept cash and EFT transfers.

All payments must be made in full, and all bank charges are for your own account.

Travel Insurance

We consider adequate travel insurance to be essential.

All premiums must be paid at the time of booking, as cover will not be effective until then.

African Sunrise Safari Ltd will not be liable if anyone should fail to take adequate insurance cover.

Air and Train Tickets

The air and train fares and taxes quoted are current and are subject to change without prior warning should the airline or train travel provider impose an increase in rates for any reason.

Should the fare quoted not be available at the time of booking, the next applicable fare will be booked and the amended costs advised accordingly.

Please note that fares may increase between the time of booking, the time of payment and the time the ticket is issued.

African Sunrise Safari cannot be held responsible should airlines or railway operators discontinue flights or train journeys on certain routes or change scheduled timetables, resulting in missed connections.

Should an amendment to the routing or itinerary be necessary, any additional costs incurred will not be borne by African Sunrise Safari.

Airfares and train fares are subject to the prices and conditions quoted by the particular airlines and/or railways and cannot be guaranteed by African Sunrise Safari.

The onus is on the agent and the passenger to check that there have been no changes in these prices before making final payment.

Flights purchased on the client’s behalf will be subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.

Flight and Train Travel Timings

Flight and train travel timings and other timings are provided by airlines and railway operators and are subject to Air Traffic Control restrictions.

All means of transportation are subject to weather conditions, the need for constant maintenance, and the ability of passengers to check in on time.

There is no guarantee that flights, ferries, ships, trains or coaches will depart at the times stated on any itinerary, voucher or ticket you receive.

All timings are estimates only, and we do not accept any liability for any delay, however arising, or for any schedule alterations.

Flight and Train Travel Reconfirmation

It is your responsibility to ensure that you reconfirm the departure date and times of all your flight arrangements and train journeys at least 72 hours prior to departure.

This is particularly important in respect of subsequent train journeys in South Africa and flights leaving South Africa.

African Sunrise Safari hereby specifically excludes any liability and cannot be held responsible for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages that may arise from any delay and/or travel service provider failure, including accommodation required, car hire, shuttle services and/or any other loss resulting from your failure to reconfirm flight, train journey and/or connecting flight details.

Documents

All vouchers are prepared only on receipt of full payment of the package price and will be ready within 72 working hours after payment has been received.

Should you require hard copies of your documents and air tickets to be forwarded to either yourself or the departure airport and/or train station, this may be arranged.

These will be sent by email. However, any courier costs will be for your own account.

It is important that you check all details of your travel documents before travelling.

If there are any inaccuracies in your travel documents, or if you have any further queries, you should contact your agent immediately.

African Sunrise Safari will not be liable for any delay and/or loss occasioned as a result of any inaccuracies on your travel documents once you are in receipt of them.

Passports, Visas and Health

It is entirely the client’s responsibility to ensure that:

All passports and visas are current and valid.
All required visas are obtained on time.
Passports will remain valid for at least six months after returning to your home country, where applicable.
Any required vaccinations, inoculations, prophylactic medication (e.g. for malaria) and similar health requirements have been obtained.
All necessary documentation required when travelling with minors is in place.

There are specific requirements for children under 18 travelling to South Africa, including, but not limited to, unabridged birth certificates.

Forced Changes to Your Package

We hope and expect to be able to provide you with all the services confirmed to you at the time of booking.

We plan arrangements as far in advance of your holiday as you allow, using independent suppliers such as hotels and other service providers over whom we have no control.

On rare occasions, changes do have to be made, and we reserve the right to make such changes.

Should events beyond our control occur, such as COVID-related restrictions or host or home government policies, notwithstanding the above, we will, without penalty, reschedule the booking for a period of up to two years from the date of arrival.

This applies up until five weeks prior to arrival.

We will do our utmost to assist after this point; however, any changes will be subject to the policies of the individual properties and service providers.

Cancellation Terms

The following cancellation terms apply:

Cancellation more than nine weeks prior to travel: The full 25% deposit is forfeited.
Cancellation less than nine weeks prior to travel: 100% of the total cost is forfeited.

This applies up until five weeks prior to arrival.

We will do our utmost to assist after this point; however, any changes will be subject to the policies of the individual properties.

Flights purchased on the client’s behalf will be subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.

Information Disclaimer

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU CHECK ALL DETAILS OF YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS BEFORE TRAVELLING.

If there are any inaccuracies in your travel documents, you must notify African Sunrise Safari or your agent immediately.

African Sunrise Safari cannot accept responsibility for any delay, loss or additional costs arising from inaccuracies in travel documents after you have received them.
