Ulusaba Rock Lodge is Sir Richard Branson’s Private Game Reserve located in the Western sector of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Rock Lodge is perched high on the summit of a koppie and provides panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, and the beauty of the lowveld below.
Ulusaba Rock Lodge features ten individually designed rooms and suites as well as a swimming pool, gymnasium, a wine cellar, Aroma Boma spa with panoramic views, a Bush Observatory perfect for stargazing and tennis courts. Guests can enjoy safari walks, moonlit bush dinners and of course, the twice daily game drives.
At Ulusaba Rock Lodge, you are on top of the world, perfect for surveying miles of the game-rich South African bush as you stand eight hundred feet above the wilderness.
The view is king here and there are endless opportunities to spot the roaming wildlife, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains far in the distance. The Lodge inside is just as spectacular with the granite rock of the koppie a key feature of the main house’s design and each room’s unique design reflecting African tribal influences and style.
There are eight rooms at Ulusaba Rock Lodge, including the Master Suite, Makwela Suites, Rock Cliff rooms and the two bedroom Rock Suite, some with private plunge pools.
There are four Rock Cliff Rooms of approximately 70 sqm each
There are four adjoining Rock Cliff rooms, all south facing with views over the vast landscape. Rooms are spacious and offer en-suite bathrooms with spectacular views. Two of these rooms are built on split levels with a spiral staircase connecting the bedroom and bathroom.
All Rock Cliff Rooms have King Size beds (that can split into Twins), air conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. All rooms supplied with bottled water, spray-on insect repellent, Africology toiletries, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Complimentary Wi-Fi Access is available
All rooms include tea and coffee-making facilities, snacks and a complimentary mini bar.
Each has a private terrace or balcony.
The Rock Suite is approximately 125sqm
A spacious two bedroom suite with living area, the master bedroom has a full en-suite and views over the bush, and the second queen bedded room a smaller en-suite bathroom (with a shower only).
The Rock Suite is our family suite and can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years) sharing. Our rates include all Cubs Club activities; also refer to our Kids go Free offer for great family value!
The Rock Suite Master Bedroom has a King Size Bed (that can split into Twins). The second bedroom has a Queen Bed (that cannot split). The suite offers air conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. All rooms supplied with bottled water, spray-on insect repellent, Africology toiletries, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Complimentary Wi-Fi Access is available
All rooms include tea and coffee-making facilities, snacks and a complimentary mini bar. The Rock Suite has a private balcony with doors leading out from both the Master Bedroom and lounge area.
The Master Suite is approximately 115 sqm
Built on 3 levels with beautiful views, an en-suite bathroom, and private balcony with infinity plunge pool. The living area features a telescope and iPod docking station.
The Master Suite has a King Size Bed (that cannot split into Twins), air conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. All rooms supplied with bottled water, spray-on insect repellent, Africology toiletries, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Complimentary Wi-Fi Access is available

Each Makwela Suite is approximately 125sqm. The suites are called Makwela Dusk & Makwela Dawn
Built on 2 levels with private balconies, full en-suite bathrooms as well as outdoor showers, infinity plunge pool, fireplace, living area and separate study/library. Each has a separate day bed in the lounge/study suitable for children.

Stay at Rock Lodge based on an exclusive buy-out. Rock Lodge has 10 rooms and suites and can accommodate up to 20 guests based in double occupancy rooms. Children of all ages are welcome at Rock Lodge

The Aroma Boma at Rock Lodge is located 800 feet above the African Savannah with truly stunning views over the Bush and offers complete privacy.
Ulusaba uses a range of products from ‘Africology’. ‘Africology’ prides itself on its African roots, taking inspiration from home and using local active ingredients including Rooibos, Aloe, Marula and African Potato. Spa treatment are available for an additional charge.
Guests can enjoy a star gazing evening as part of their game viewing experience at our observatory in the Bush. Our Rangers will teach all about the constellations you can see from points in the southern hemisphere!
