Accommodation
Guests are accommodated in 12 luxurious suites of which 2 are interleading family suites, each with a heated plunge pool and game viewing deck, double-sided fireplace and a glass-fronted full en-suite bathroom. Singita Ebony Lodge provides a welcoming and homely environment with all creature comforts at hand. From the cool and sumptuous folds of a leather sofa, you can either quietly relax or browse through the extensive library.
Fine wine and cuisine are as much a part of the guest experience as pristine game viewing and luxurious lodge living. Created to please discerning cosmopolitan palates, the gourmet meals compare with the world’s finest cuisine.
Luxurious Suites
Singita Ebony Lodge comprises 12 suites, each with its own private plunge pool. Interiors feature curated still-life collections of antiques and artefacts, as well as vintage campaign furniture from the Bailes’ family collection. Singita Ebony Lodge boasts a lounge and timber deck dining areas, where guests can admire the views of the Sand River. There is also a bar area and open-air boma or enclosure, ideal for dinner under the stars. Guests can make use of the gym, health spa, library (with computers and internet access) and the main lodge pool.
Family Accommodation
Ideal for families with small children. The family suites include an en-suite master bedroom and an en-suite twin bedroom as well as a dining and lounge veranda area with a stone fireplace, and a private viewing deck with heated plunge pool.
Activities
Enjoy traditional Big Five game viewing whether it’s in an open Land Rover or by foot on safari. Enhance your safari in South Africa with health spa and gym sessions or enjoy a community tour amongst other activities.
Driving in open safari Land Rovers allows for a panoramic vision of the bush. Only 6 people are permitted per vehicle, leaving space for photographic and binocular equipment. For guests wanting private drives on their safari in South Africa, Land Rovers can be hired.
Night game drives are a must for observing nocturnal wildlife. Drinks are served in the bush at sunset as a gentle introduction to this exciting experience. Afterwards, the drive continues with the aid of a powerful spotlight to illuminate the shy and sometimes rare wildlife. When the heat of the day has subsided, predators such as Lion, Leopard, Hyena and Black Backed Jackal begin to hunt.
Children’s Activities
The lodge offers entertaining activities such as board games, wildlife shows, cooking and baking with the chefs, also tours to community schools.
The Mini-Rangers Programme is a fun and educational course with a certificate of merit presented on completion. Activities include animal tracking, frogging, flower-pressing, butterfly capture and release, star-gazing and nature quizzes.
