Cheetah Plains Lodge Prepare to be swept away into the wild on an exciting game drive just shortly after you arrive at the lodge.
Cheetah Plains Lodge is in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, and is alongside the Mala Mala Reserve and Kruger National Park. Unfenced plains allow the animals to roam through all the reserves at their will. Bring your camera and capture South Africa’s most beautiful creatures in their natural environment. Guests can count on seeing the Big 5, but will also experience so much more. The times of the game drives ensure that guests can admire the spectacular African sunrise and sunset. Specialized birding safaris led by an experienced ornithologist offer a slightly different experience, while the photographic safaris with special equipment ensure guests take home perfect pictures.
Cheetah Plains Lodge is also much more than just the Big 5, here guests learn about the fascinating history of the reserve, and how the Tsongas once survived on the land alongside the animals. The lodge is a special place with a homely feeling and staff who simply love to pamper their guests. Enjoy therapeutic massages at the spa, a cool-off in the magnificent swimming pool and dinners around a roaring fire under the African sky at the boma, whilst listening to the calls of the wild. The lounge, bar and viewing decks with spectacular views of the waterhole ensure guests have the perfect place to commune. The full English buffet breakfast is a great start to the morning, while lunch and afternoon teas bring more wonderful surprises.
Just three designer bush homes make up the brand new Cheetah Plains Lodge. Each bush home has two lounges, outdoor boma area, wine cellar and a heated swimming pool. Cheetah Plains strives to embrace a contemporary ethnic design, with elegantly decorated chalets nestled into the indigenous gardens of the camp. The traditionally thatched accommodation blends seamlessly into the African bush, creating a harmonious flow between pampered relaxation and the raw South African bushveld. Each bush home includes a private safari vehicle and designated field guide for the duration of your stay. The bush homes all flow onto the indigenous gardens and their wild surroundings. Other facilities available include a swimming pool, bar and lounge area, viewing deck, boma and well stocked curio shop.
